Here are some of the recent activities that The Ponton Trust has been involved in.

2019 News

The Ponton House Trustees meet on a quarterly basis to consider applications from charities operating in the Edinburgh and Lothian area.  During 2019 the Trust was delighted to be able to make over fifty donations, totalling approximately £118,000.

The Trust’s focus is on helping charities which are working with young people but the range of what those charities do is extraordinarily diverse.

The list of charities supported during the last year is too numerous to enumerate but three examples are the Rock Trust for its Nightstop Project, a unique project which relies on community hosting to provide a safe, welcoming place for young people in crisis; the Ocean Youth Trust which takes groups of disadvantaged young people on life-changing sailing adventures to help young people build self -confidence, develop new social and life skills, and hopefully enable them to realise their true potential; and the Royal Lyceum Theatre’s 2019 Christmas Show where the Trust helped with the costs of including pupils from special educational needs schools in the theatre’s annual Christmas project.

The Trustees’ focus is always on projects aimed at delivering positive outcomes for young people in the Edinburgh and Lothian area, and they look forward to providing support for further projects in 2020.
